Malayan Orange (MOD) coconuts are famous for it’s color, size, taste of water and water content. It is highly demanding tender coconut. Seed nuts are collected from at least 10 years old mother palm to produce seedlings.

It is suitable for tender coconut. It produces good amount of sweet tender coconut water upto 400 to 500 ml.

Flowering starts within three years after plantation under good management.

It produces upto 120 to 130 nuts per annum per tree. Color of coconut is orange, making it more attractive for commercial purpose. It is planted as ornamental tree for beautification.

The tender coconut at 6 months contains 450-500 ml sweet coconut water.

MOD is widely cultivated in different parts of South India for tender coconut and production of seedlings.
